'LETHAL INJECTION' ALBUM INFO:
Lethal Injection was released by Ice Cube on December 7, 1993. In earlier albums, Ice Cube often addressed political issues, however Lethal Injection returns more to the themes of gangsta rap. The track "Ghetto Bird" was produced by QD3, a son of Quincy Jones. "Ghetto bird" is street slang for a police helicopter (click here to see our Rap Dictionary).
The album peaked at #5 in the Billboard 200 chart, and claimed the number 1 spot in the R&B/Hip-Hop chart, and was certified as platinum. Some of the songs released on the charts from the album are the slick 'What Can I Do', as well as 'Bop Gun' which reached #22 in the UK Charts and #23 in the Billboards.
Production wise the album has more of a 'G-Funk' style than Ice Cube's earlier album, 'The Predator', with the use of whiney synthesizers and deeper bass.
