CANIBUS '2000 B.C. (Before Can-I-Bus)' ALBUM INFO:
2000 B.C. (Before Can-I-Bus) is the second full-length album released by rapper Canibus through Universal Records on July 18, 2000. It is widely considered to have been a significant improvement over his debut album, Can-I-Bus, with different producers and greater differentiation. Canibus, blaming the commercial failure of his first album on the bland beats by Wyclef Jean, severed ties with the latter to team up with various producers, ranging from Ty Fyffe to Irv Gotti.
Despite this improvement, however, complaints could still be heard regarding the rapper's seemingly monotonous subject matter and, in some cases, uninspired beats. The album peaked at #23 on the USA Billboard 200 chart, and also #6 on the R&B;/Hip-Hop chart. Though sales weren't horrible, they weren't what Universal was expecting, and they terminated Canibus' contract soon after the release of this album.
