EMINEM "THE SLIM SHADY LP" ALBUM REVIEW:

EMINEM: 'THE SLIM SHADY LP' Album Review
ALBUM TITLE: The Slim Shady LP

LABEL: Interscope

RELEASED: Feb 23, 1999

TOP TRACKS:  Rock Bottom, Still dont give a fuc, Guilty Conscience, Bonnie and Clyde

RAPCENTRAL RATING: 4.5 out of 5 Stars - One of the great debuts in both hip-hop and modern pop music.

The Slim Shady is another out of this world debut by an artist we knew would grow to be the one of the most controversial artist with songs like "Kim" and 'Bonnie and Clyde". This cd is very dramatic and in my opinion very emo by the way life for a simple person can be totally fucked by everyday society especially when you’re poor... If you ever wanted to know a rappers entire life within an hour, just listen to Eminem's first cd and you'll understand why after being totally blown away by tracks about his life and feelings. Eminem was set for sucessful with this album being the protege of Dr. Dre. WE LOVE YOU 1990's :)

With more or same amount of controversy as N.W.A, Eminem definably puts the hip hop industry in a state of crisis when many politicians and city locals attempt to ban hip hop and its lyrics. There are many spots of the cd where you could honestly say "is he really going to say that for the whole world to hear?" "If I had a magic-wand, I’d make the world suck my dick without a condom on while I’m on the john... If I had 1 wish, I would ask for a big enough ass for the whole world to kiss." We all know how ground breaking this cd is when you watch the news and Eminem is on every channel and people are bulldozing his cd's.

This cd is definably not a big mainstream album because there aren't really any good singles which would get much air play yet it was a big hit with the people. Eminem was one of a kind being white, being produced by Dr. Dre and talking about many real life situations that most people would never dare to say on a record. Eminem talks about getting beat up, killing his wife, explaining to his daughter why her mother needed to die, taking countless drugs, going to hell and destroying the world’s values. I cant help but wondering what a horrible place Detroit is after listening.

With such a great life and a great opportunity to take a chance to make millions of a cd off the world’s miseries, Eminem becomes the person we love dissing people like Vanilla Ice and others. After the big success of the Slim Shady Lp, Royce Da 5'9' a friend of Eminem's decides to later attack D12 and Eminem which is another story...

Years later, as the shock has faded, it's those lyrical skills and the subtle mastery of the music that still resonate, and they're what make The Slim Shady LP one of the great debuts in both hip-hop and modern pop music.

StraightOutofBrazil - 26/Oct/06: I think this album is amazing I still listen it to this day.

clear - 26/Oct/06: I like this album. Its what em is really about. In his early days he's angry n it shows in this album and the marshall mathers lp. In my opinion, Guilty Conciense is the best tracks on this album, shows what hes about. This album is always worth a listen even now, good review man, keep em comin

Ell Diablo - 26/Oct/06: Id give it a 5out of 5, for the simple fact its one of my favourite albums of all time

Eazy-ED - 26/Oct/06: One of Em's best of all time if ya ask me, still pull it out of my well-stacked CD rack every day... my favourite tracks are; My Name Is, Guilty Conscience and Brain Damage, and id rate it as 5 out of 5.

lahlah - 29/Oct/06: I gave it a 4, I think it is one of his best, when his talent seemed 2 matter more to him, unlike some of his more recent stuff.
